On my birthday I received a wonderful surprise, finding your birthday greetings online.
I read all of your messages, from the first to last, including Raul Sandoval’s (who didn’t think I would read his message
since it was the 100th one - but, I did!) I also saw each one of your photos, and was touched by each one of your words.
It makes me very happy to know that so many of you are learning Spanish, and that you are anxiously awaiting the music that I am working on.
I’m also delighted to hear that you relate to the cause that matters most to me, children.
After all, you and I form one big family. We enjoy the same things and believe in the same ideas. We know that there is hunger in the world, and millions of children without education or opportunity. We know that each one of us can do something to help others, and that only through giving can we achieve true happiness. The best birthday gift I could receive would be that each one of you, if you are able, sponsor an underprivileged child in any country of the world through any foundation that offers this type of program. Or, volunteer your time to participate in a program that benefits children. As for me, I will do the same.
It is only in this way that we can start to move in the same direction: a world in which we, young people, can create a true change.

En mi cumpleanos recibí una sorpresa lindísima, encontrarme con tantas tarjetas de felicitación por parte de ustedes. Leí cada uno de sus mensajes, desde el primero hasta el ultimo pasando por Raúl Sandoval. El creía que no iba a leer su mensaje por ser el numero cien. Pero si, lo hice! y vi cada una de sus fotos y me emocione con cada una de sus palabras. Me hace muy feliz saber que hay tantos de ustedes aprendiendo español y que esperan la música que he estado preparando todo este tiempo. También me alegra muchísimo saber que se identifican tanto con la causa que mas me compromete, los niños.
Después de todo, ustedes y yo somos una sola familia. Disfrutamos de las mismas cosas y comulgamos con las mismas ideas. Sabemos que hay hambre en el mundo y millones de niños sin educación, ni oportunidades. Sabemos que cada uno de nosotros puede hacer algo por los demás, y solo dando se alcanza la verdadera felicidad. Mi mejor regalo de cumpleaños seria que cada uno de ustedes, si así lo quieren, apadrine a un niño desamparado en algún país del mundo a través de alguna fundacion seria que ofrezca este tipo de programa de ayuda a cualquier persona. O, se puede voluntar con un programa que ayude a los niños. Yo por mi parte haré lo mismo.
Es solo de esta forma como nos podemos empezar a mover todos hacia la misma dirección, un mundo donde nosotros los jóvenes protagonicemos un verdadero cambio.
